Press Release: January 2020

An outstanding response by Chard based CME Limited to an urgent customer need, leading to the company designing, manufacturing and delivering a complex multi-station production solution against challenging timescales, has secured a significant new export contract.

The first machine for this new customer, which was delivered and installed just 17 weeks from initial contact, demonstrated not only CME’s ability to achieve the customers’ technical, commercial and timescale requirements, but also innovative thinking on the part of the design team in finding a robust solution to a complex automation problem.

CME Managing Director Paul Knight comments: “We are delighted to have received this new multi-machine contract so soon after the delivery of the first machine, which was the first of its kind and required a high degree of innovation to accommodate the nuances associated with the previous manual production process to guarantee reliable and efficient operation.

This new contract clearly demonstrates the confidence that the customer has in the depth of our design innovation and expertise, and our organisational processes and methodologies which work together to achieve an efficient right first-time scenario.”
